I know you all come here to see and hear about Dylan, but I wanted to let you know about another blog I started. I've decided to do a little project. It's called 101 in 1,001. It's a list of things to help better me and the world and to help my life be a little more organized and "together". Hope you will enjoy it...or perhaps be inspired to join in. Click here.

a few things...
Dylan has really begun teething. She had shown small signs before, but it's getting pretty heavy. So, she hasn't been the happiest baby on the planet. The teeth are still far off, but man is she pissed about it! On another note, we visited Grandma yesterday and took a walk around Back Bay. It was really beautiful, albeit, a bit chilly. Dylan fell asleep in the stroller, but Grandma and I spotted this crane. It was so pretty. I've never seen one so close up. Also, we are working on Dylan's sitting up skills. She's definitely coming along!

tea time...
So, I love sweet tea (I'm from Texas). But I stopped drinking caffeine about a year and a half ago, so I tend to keep a pitcher of decaf sweet tea in the fridge...I love it, it's perfectly refreshing. Today, when Dylan and I returned from our walk she was a little fussy and ready to eat, so (with baby on hip) I went to grab a quick glass of tea to have while I nurse her and this happened...
so I've got crying baby in my arms and tea on my feet! Haha, I had to laugh about it...Dylan didn't find it as funny!Hope...
On November 4, 2007, Dylan went with me to cast my vote for the 44th President of the United States. Yesterday we watched as the new president was sworn into office. To now have an African American man as president means so many things for our world, but most importantly it gives hope to the children of our nation. They now know that they can be, literally, anything they want to be...the sky is the limit! It makes me happy to know that my daughter will never live in a world where her dreams and aspirations were limited. As the parents of a young child, we pray constantly for the future of our world. Our prayer is for Barack Obama and his family as they enter into the most difficult position any presidential family has had to face. Although I am a supporter of Obama, I feel too many people put their hope just in him, but he is just a man. We have chosen to put our hope and trust in God. We are praying that our new president will lead us the way he has promised and that God will help him to lead our nation towards a more peaceful, stable, protected future, for the sake of our children. YES, WE CAN!

MLK day...
I have a dream...of beautiful summer days at the beach...but who has time to sit around and wait for summer?? We made history on Monday by taking Dylan to the beach for her very first time!
putting her feet in the ocean for the first time!she didn't seem to care (even though I did!) that the water was freeeezing!

what day at the beach is complete without a couple getting way too comfortable under a blanket?

Sunday...
...was quite a day! We went to church in the morning where Dylan "talked" almost the whole time, so Chad walked around with her. He came back into the sanctuary at worship and Dylan stuck both thumbs in her mouth and fell asleep almost instantly. Then we came home and Pops, Nanny B, and Grandma C came over to play in the yard. Chad wants to replace all the plants in the front of the house, so him and Pops started by taking a sprout from our banana tree in the backyard and replanting it in a pot...
Dylan defying nap timethe sun goes down too early this time of year so Chad pulled out some flood lights so they could keep working
