long time no blog...

I know, I'm a terrible blogger, it's gone neglected, but I do plan to make up for it.  It has been a busy couple of months, but memorable to say the least.  Lots of new things going on with Dylan.  I think the best way to do this is just with a list.  So, many posts follow this one, but there are still more to come...bear with me.
I know that at about 5 1/2 months I reported that Dylan started to pull up on the ottoman.  That was just the beginning.  You can hardly set her down on her butt.  She stiffens her legs and wants to stand.  She doesn't want to be sitting, if she is, she crawls to the nearest thing, pulls up and stands there for however long we let her or until she gets bored and wants to go to the next thing.
She practically crawls, we call it the worm.  She does 2 or 3 crawls, goes to belly, back to crawl, and so on.
She has two teeth, the bottom front two...soooo cute!
She puts everything in her mouth.
She loves Cheerios.
She drinks from a sippy cup.
She is learning how to wave.
She said "gleeba" (haha not really, that's a joke).
She loves the swings at the park.
She loves baths, the sink, any running water, she just doesn't like it in her face.
She loves to look out the window in our living room to the backyard.
She loves mirrors.
and I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now!
Enjoy the pictures, there will be more to come...

went on a road trip...

Okay, this post got kind of messed up, but I don't have the patience to go back and fix it right now.  These are from our trip to San Jose where Chad spoke at a conference at the Calvary Chapel there.  We stayed with our friends Jose and CeCe and their dogs Miles and Cero (Miles is the little french bulldog, Cero is the massive american bulldog).  We had a great time and Dylan did really well in the car.  We even ran into a truck stop that had pre-made milkshakes in a cup.  You just take it out of the freezer, put it in the machine and choose your thickness...it was actually pretty good!  Thanks to Jose and CeCe for letting us stay (and for introducing us to that great BBQ place!).

hit the road Jack...

We are taking our first trip as a family of three!!!  We are leaving Thursday morning and driving up to San Jose, California.  Chad was called to speak at a purity conference for youngsters at Calvary Chapel in San Jose.  We have some friends, Jose and CeCe, who live there, so we are making a weekend of it and driving up to stay with them and hang out.  We may even make a trip into San Francisco.  I love San Francisco and we haven't been since our first wedding anniversary in 2006.  It would be neat to take Dylan there.  Either way, I'm super excited to take Dylan to see her Uncle Jose and to meet Aunt CeCe!  We always have so much fun when we stay with them, so I'm sure this trip will be no exception.  You can expect pictures soon!  Also, Dylan's tooth popped in on Sunday, March 8 and she's already got the one next to it coming in today!  I've tried to get pictures, but I'm sure you can all imagine how that went!  She's going strong with the scooting, well, she's practically crawling really!  And still pulling up...the doctor didn't believe us when we told her that!  When we get back from our trip we will be adding to Dylan's food repertoire, which currently consists of breast milk, rice cereal and oatmeal cereal, and moving up to her first foods!  First veggies, then fruits!!  So excited to see the faces she makes when she gets a new taste in her mouth!!!  I will definitely keep you all updated on that one!

news, news, news...

Okay, I promise to do a photo update soon, but I haven't uploaded new pictures to the computer and I just have to share all the new stuff about Dylan...it's happening so fast!!!  She started doing the "commando" crawl a couple of weeks ago and she hasn't stopped.  It's pretty funny because she mostly drags herself with her arms.  Every once in a while she will get her knees up under her, but she can't really figure it out, so she doesn't really get anywhere.  She's definitely enjoying it, even though I think she gets frustrated.  Then, a few days ago, she was sitting in the chair next to Chad while he was playing guitar and she grabbed the arm of the chair with one hand and the guitar with the other and pulled herself up to a standing position!  We couldn't believe it!  We figured it was a fluke though, cause the chair's soft, she had good leverage, etc.  However, two nights ago, the computer (which she's obsessed with) was sitting on the ottoman and she was sitting right next to the ottoman on the floor.  When she saw the computer she grabbed the top of the ottoman and pulled herself up again!  She's done it several times now.  Is she crazy?!?  She's only 6 months old, she can't even crawl yet, and she's standing herself up.  What am I going to do?!  Well, the growing doesn't stop there...today I officially saw it!  She's got a tooth about to pop through on the bottom!!!  My baby's gonna have a tooth!!  I just can't believe it!!

please read...

My friend Holly posted a link on her blog to an article regarding Cystic Fibrosis.  Please take two minutes to read this article.  It's not long.  Please be praying for the scientists and everyone else involved in this research.  This could mean amazing things for Ojaio.  Thank you!

swing time...

Dylan and I take a few walks every week.  There is a park that is very close to our house and I often times want to take Dylan over there, but there are always tons of little rugrats running around that I know I won't get to enjoy her first park experience...especially considering she's too young to play on her own and I would have to swing/slide/climb with her in my arms and have to worry about her being trampled and pushed aside.  On one of our walks last week we went by the park and there were only like 5 kids there!  So, I reluctantly crept closer and closer to the playground, stopping to sit and watch here and there.  The swings were always my favorite, so I kept an especially close eye on those, and finally the opportunity arose!  There were no kids on the swings, a couple of them on the jungle gym, and the others had left or moved over to another play area.  So onto the regular swing I went with Dylan in my lap, the whole time spying the infant swings.  I thought, "Dare I put her in there?  They're probably so dirty, she's bound to put her mouth on it, and Chad's not here to witness it!".  But since I had my camera with me as always, I went for it!  I placed her in that swing and she was so tiny it!  She probably could have fit her whole body through one of the leg holes!  Haha!  I held on to her and gave her a little nudge and she really seemed to enjoy it.  She may not have really known what was going on, but I know one thing, she looked darn cute in it!  I cannot wait until she's a little bigger so she can be pushed in it without me holding on to her, I know she's gonna love it!
